Suggested Itinerary
Day One
Visit Tasmania’s fastest growing wine region, the Coal River Valley. Grab lunch and a bottle of local wine at Meadow Bank Estate Vineyard and Restaurant.Tour the historic town of Richmond.
Pick some strawberries at the Sorell Fruit Farm.
Get stopped by the cop at the Copping Colonial and Convict Exhibition, en-route to the Tasman Peninsula.
Enjoy fish and chips at the Dunalley Fish Market or try the oysters and crayfish.
Take a two-minute detour off the highway to the Tasman National Park Lookout to see one of Australia’s best views.
Have a game of hopscotch on the Tessellated Pavement, a natural floor of volcanic rock tiles.
Take a walk along the Sea Cliffs, view the Devils Kitchen, Blowhole and Tasman Arch.
Call into Tasmanian Devil Park at Taranna for a night tour.
Day Two
Spend at least a day exploring the Port Arthur Historic Site.Admission includes the interpretation gallery, ‘Lottery of Life’ game, harbor cruise, a guided walking tour, the convict museum, and access to the many restored buildings, ruins and gardens.
Return at night for the lantern-lit ‘Ghost Tour of Port Arthur’.
Day Three
Admire the sea cliffs as you cruise aboard the state of the art ‘MV Marana’ to the Point Puer Boys Prison or to the Isle of the Dead Convict Cemetery.Or take the eco-boat trip from Port Arthur to Tasman Island, the turning point of the world famous Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. The wildlife is stunning - seals, dolphins, seabirds, eagles and the occasional whale.
If you are looking for something more adventurous, the region also offers activities such as sea kayaking, scuba diving, bush walking, horse riding and more.
